For the past 35 years, The North Coast Courier has dominated the local news scene. The North Coast Courier, which was established in 1985 by Bruce and Rose Stephenson, is the biggest neighbourhood publication in KZN from Umdloti to the Tugela River. Bruce, an experienced journalist, sold his prized MGB sports car and gave up the security of a monthly salary to launch the newspaper. Since then, the newspaper has endured and upheld its stellar reputation for trust, dependability, and keeping the Dolphin Coast informed and entertained. The fast-growing Dolphin Coast region north of Durban is served by Wordsmiths (Pty) Ltd's publication of The North Coast Courier in collaboration with Caxton Community Newspapers. The Courier, which distributes 40 000 copies a week and has an average of 44 pages, is the preferred outlet for classified, legal, and retail advertising. The publishing house, which is based in Ballito, has expanded to include a stable of incredibly expert goods. The North Coast Courier, the monthly Get It Ballito-Umhlanga magazine, and the glossy Fast Finder business directory are the three publications. In order to give local businesses and the larger community a platform to support orphans and vulnerable children, Rose established the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund in July 2003. By ensuring that the money goes to the right people, The Courier can give the community peace of mind. Their only daughter, Lesley, and their son-in-law Pieter Naud joined Bruce and Rose in November 2012. The Courier, which incorporates a contemporary blend of print, digital, and mobile media, is constantly evolving alongside its community. Read More
