In 1983, Steve founded Jireh in a modest Plettenberg Bay workshop where he produced solid wood windows and doors for the construction industry. As sheet materials became more widely available, he expanded the company to produce custom interior units and kitchens. Neal volunteered as a fitter in the late 1990s, in between his international trips. He started working there full-time in June 1998 to help Jireh Custom Interiors run more smoothly and expand.
