This sum represents the excess donations from the prior project, which will be applied to the upcoming JPCF Project. Comment below with your ideas for where you think we should spend YOUR money. Andrew from the Biodiversity Company is kindly donating a brand-new Jungle Gym due to the park's popularity. Although going bigger and better is expensive, we are not holding back. The image above gives a general idea of what will happen, but there is also a surprise. Please assist us in generating some additional funding for the park's improvement. We've been working hard for the past 12 months. For a long-term solution to improvement, we need your assistance. As funding becomes available, we will finish the projects on our list of "projects." We take pride in being completely open and honest with our members. The data on ongoing and completed projects will be accessible for online audit. With the help of crucial funding and the arduous labour of our community's volunteers and residents, Jukskei Park's property rates will increase as it expands. With your help, Jukskei Park can become the most sought-after neighbourhood in Johannesburg. A community-run forum called Jukskei Park Community Forum (JPCF) 2020/074166/08 (NPC) aims to improve the neighbourhood with the aid of engaged locals. We can turn Jukskei Park into the most sought-after neighbourhood in Johannesburg by donating our time or money. Read More

Both a nature reserve and a Johannesburg City Heritage Site are Melville Koppies. It is the last preserved piece of Johannesburg's pre-1886 ridges, when gold was first discovered there. The earth's geology is three billion years old. Early Stone Age man camped here as long as 500 000 years ago, according to stone tools. There is a living floor from the Late Stone Age. Iron Age immigrants arrived within the last 1000 years, and the northern slopes still contain remnants of their kraal walls. An iron-smelting furnace was unearthed in 1963 and is still visible today. The lushness of highveld grasses, flowers, and trees so close to a city centre is exemplified by the Koppies' entirely native vegetation, which is a remarkable example. These ridges have had this appearance for many centuries. Melville Koppies CENTRAL is always locked and has CONTROLLED ACCESS ONLY for people on hikes or walks on Sundays between 8am and 11:30am. There is a dog ban. Everyday walks are available at Melville Koppies East, and well-behaved dogs are welcome there. Although Melville Koppies WEST is open every day, it's best to only walk on predetermined routes. As these are public open spaces, don't bring anything of value onto EAST or WEST. For large groups and guided tours on Sundays and during the week, make reservations. Unless otherwise stated all material on this site is available in terms of the GNU Free Documentation Licence.
