Members of the Sector 8 Community Policing Forum (CPF), ER24, and local police were summoned to the scene early on Saturday, August 8, where yet another body had been found on the rocks at the waterfall in the kloof. A sector 7 and 8 patroller was startled when she almost trod on a naked person that was concealed in the rocks next to the waterfall when she was on patrol in the kloof. On the other side of the waterfall, a man's body was discovered with his clothes still on. The dead is thought to have belonged to the ZCC Church, which uses the waterfall for a number of religious rites. The deceased was allegedly cautioned to use caution at the waterfall after being seen there the day before. The deceased claimed that her ancestors had summoned him to the waterfall when speaking to park security. The Sector 8 CPF patrols the kloof on a regular basis as a safety measure to increase visibility and to assist with waterfall cleanup. The deceased may have died from hypothermia, according to paramedics who responded to the scene and notified the detective, because of the extreme temperature. Soon after, forensics services arrived, and the body was taken out of the kloof.
