In 1907, Mr. Walker, a local potter, decided to launch an interdenominational Sunday school in Kempton Park for all English-speaking kids.
On the first Sunday, there were eight kids in attendance at the Sunday School.
This Sunday School soon attracted the majority of the English-speaking kids in Kempton Park.
The Little Tin Tab (Tabernacle) was Kempton Park's first church, and it was dedicated on Saturday, October 9, 1915.
It was planned to schedule Sunday services for the parents once the building was finished.
As a result, the Tin Tab became a genuine interdenominational community church for the majority of Kempton Park's English-speaking citizens.
