One of the oldest bookshops in southern Africa, Van Schaik Bookstore is proud of its history. In 2014, we celebrated our 100th anniversary.
Van Schaik has prioritised leading within the book sector from the start, a decision that was recognised in 1960 when he was awarded a medal of honour by the SA Academy for his contribution to the growth of the book industry in South Africa.
Over the years, Van Schaik has been owned by various parties; Via Afrika purchased Van Schaik in 1986.One of the oldest bookshops in southern Africa, Van Schaik Bookstore is proud of its history. In 2014, we celebrated our 100th anniversary.
